Driving your toy from Captain Hardcore
Captain Hardcore expects a Lovense toy on your network. ToyControl pretends to be one. Three-step setup to make any supported toy work.
Captain Hardcore is one of the most popular VR adult games and one of the easiest to integrate with a toy. It has built-in support for Lovense-style toys on your local network. ToyControl steps in and acts as a Lovense toy, so any toy you have paired (Tremblr, Hismith, Lovense, others) drives the game's haptics.
The setup takes about five minutes once you have the pieces in place.
What you need
- A toy paired with ToyControl in your browser.
- The ToyControl helper app installed and running on your computer.
- Captain Hardcore installed, either on PC VR (Quest Link, Virtual Desktop) or Quest standalone.
- The computer and the headset on the same Wi-Fi (for Quest-standalone Captain Hardcore).
How it works
Captain Hardcore is designed to find a "Lovense Connect" service on your network. Normally that service is a real Lovense toy running through their app. ToyControl pretends to be that service: it listens on the right port, accepts the game's commands, and translates them for your real toy.
The game does not know it is not talking to a Lovense toy. The toy does not know it is being driven by a game. Everything just works.
Step 1: Get the helper app running
If you have not already, install and start the helper app. The icon should be visible in your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows).
To confirm it is running, open http://localhost:8765/healthz in your browser. You should see ok.
Step 2: Get the connection target in ToyControl
- Open ToyControl at toycontrol.app.
- Make sure your toy is paired.
- Click Game Link in the sidebar.
- You will see a "Connection target" line with an IP and port, like
192.168.1.42:6010. - Click the copy button next to it.
Step 3: Enter the target into Captain Hardcore
- Launch Captain Hardcore.
- Once in-game, open the menu.
- Go to Teledildonics > Lovense > Settings.
- In the IP field, paste the IP from ToyControl (or type it).
- In the Port field, enter the port (typically 6010).
- Click Scan for toys or Connect.
Captain Hardcore will find "Lovense" and connect. The Activity log in ToyControl's Game Link tab will start showing commands the game is sending.
Verifying it works
In ToyControl's Game Link tab, watch the Activity log. You should see entries like Vibrate:50 or Pump:80 appearing as the game runs. Your toy should also be responding.
If the log is empty, Captain Hardcore has not connected. Re-check:
- Both Captain Hardcore and ToyControl are on the same Wi-Fi.
- The helper app is running.
- The IP and port match.
Tuning the feel
Captain Hardcore sends straightforward speed commands. You can shape them with ToyControl's standard controls:
- Multiplier (in the bottom bar) scales everything up or down.
- Speed range max caps the top.
- Per-device intensity scales just one toy if you have multiple paired.
If the game feels too gentle, set Multiplier to 1.3x or 1.5x. If too intense, drop to 0.7x.
Disconnecting
When you exit Captain Hardcore, the connection drops. ToyControl's Game Link goes idle. You can re-launch the game and reconnect any time.
If you want to manually clear the link, click Disconnect on the Game Link tab.
What if I am using PC VR
Captain Hardcore on PC VR works the same way. Just make sure your PC and the game (which runs on the same PC) are on the same network. The IP and port from ToyControl point to your PC; Captain Hardcore, running on the PC, connects to itself.
Privacy
Game Link is local-only. The game finds ToyControl by scanning your home Wi-Fi. Nothing leaves your house. No cloud is involved. The Activity log is not transmitted to us.
