How to connect your toy to Risk of Rain 2

RumbleRain and RiskOfRumble are BepInEx mods that drives a toy from Risk of Rain 2 combat events. Setup with ToyControl.

Risk of Rain 2 has a chaotic combat loop and several community plugins that route in-game events to a real toy. RumbleRain and RiskOfRumble are two separate, independently maintained mods. Both use Buttplug.io.

ToyControl is a Buttplug.io server, so the mod connects directly through the Intiface bridge.

What you need

Step 1: Install BepInEx for RoR2

Use the Thunderstore Mod Manager for the easiest install. It handles BepInEx and mod dependencies automatically.

Step 2: Install the toy mod

In Thunderstore Mod Manager:

  1. Search for RiskOfRumble or RumbleRain.
  2. Click Install.
  3. The manager downloads and places the mod in BepInEx/plugins/.

Step 3: Configure

Launch the game once via Thunderstore. The mod generates a config in BepInEx/config/. Open the relevant .cfg file and set the Buttplug server URL to ToyControl's Intiface bridge URL (visible in ToyControl's Game Link tab).

Step 4: Play

Launch RoR2 normally. The mod loads, connects to ToyControl, and starts firing events:

Tuning the feel

RoR2 combat is dense; events fire constantly. Start with Multiplier 0.3-0.5x in ToyControl's bottom bar. Set Speed range max to 60-70.

Troubleshooting

Mod not loading

Connected but no toy response

Multiplayer with toy

If you play co-op, only the host's events fire by default. The mod has options for "event when teammates do X"; check the config.

Privacy

Local only. ToyControl, the mod, and the game all run on your computer.
