How to connect your toy to Stardew Valley with Buttplug Valley

Buttplug Valley is a free SMAPI mod for Stardew Valley that triggers toy responses on farm events. Mining, fishing, cooking, and more.

Stardew Valley is the most wholesome game on this list. Buttplug Valley is a community SMAPI mod that drives toy responses from in-game events: mining a node, catching a fish, harvesting a crop, etc. It is exactly as ridiculous and exactly as fun as it sounds.

Buttplug Valley uses Buttplug.io. ToyControl is a Buttplug server. Setup is quick.

What you need

Stardew Valley installed (Steam, GOG, or Xbox app).
SMAPI (the Stardew Modding API).
Buttplug Valley mod.
A toy paired with ToyControl in your browser.
The ToyControl helper app running.
The Intiface bridge turned on in ToyControl's Game Link tab. Quit Intiface Central first if you have it installed; the two cannot share the port.

Step 1: Install SMAPI

If you have any Stardew mods, you have SMAPI. If not:

Download SMAPI from smapi.io.
Run the installer.
SMAPI replaces your Stardew launcher with a modded launcher.

Step 2: Install Buttplug Valley

Search for Buttplug Valley on Nexus Mods (or the Awesome Intiface list).
Download the latest version.
Extract the mod folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.

Step 3: Configure Buttplug Valley

Launch Stardew Valley once (through the SMAPI launcher).
SMAPI generates the Buttplug Valley config in the mod's folder.
Close the game and open Mods/ButtplugValley/config.json.
Set the Buttplug server URL to ToyControl's Intiface bridge URL (visible in ToyControl's Game Link tab).

Step 4: Play

Launch the game. Buttplug Valley loads through SMAPI, connects to ToyControl, and starts mapping events. Mining a node fires a small intensity burst. Catching a fish fires another. Each event has a configurable response.

Tuning the feel

In ToyControl's bottom bar:

Multiplier at 1.0x is usually fine; Buttplug Valley's defaults are gentle.
Speed range max if you want a cap.
Per-device intensity for individual toys.

The mod's config.json also lets you tune per-event response.

Troubleshooting

Buttplug Valley not loading

Check SMAPI's console output (it opens with the modded launcher). Errors are usually about missing dependencies or version mismatches.
Make sure your Stardew Valley version matches what Buttplug Valley supports.

Plugin loads but no toy response

Confirm ToyControl's helper app is running.
Verify the Buttplug URL in config.json matches ToyControl's.
Click Test toy in ToyControl.

Local only. SMAPI is local. ToyControl is local. The mod talks to ToyControl over localhost.
