Pairing your toy with vamX inside Virt-A-Mate

vamX is the easiest path to drive a toy from Virt-A-Mate. The built-in Lovense panel takes two clicks to point at ToyControl.

vamX is a popular extension for Virt-A-Mate that ships with a built-in Lovense panel. It is the easiest way to drive a toy from VAM, especially for users who do not want to install VAMSync or fiddle with Buttplug plugins.

vamX talks Lovense Game Mode, which means it works directly with ToyControl's Game Link without any extra setup on the ToyControl side.

What you need

• Virt-A-Mate installed.
• vamX installed as an extension (separate purchase from itch.io).
• A toy paired with ToyControl in your browser.
• The ToyControl helper app running.

Step 1: Open the vamX Lovense panel

1. Launch VAM with vamX loaded.
2. In a scene, open the vamX plugin menu.
3. Find the Lovense section in the side panel.

The panel has fields for IP and port (the same fields Lovense Remote would show).

Step 2: Point vamX at ToyControl

1. In a separate browser window, open ToyControl.
2. Click the Game Link option in the sidebar.
3. Copy the connection target (something like 192.168.1.42:6010).
4. Back in vamX, paste the IP and port into the Lovense fields.
5. Click Connect.

vamX connects to ToyControl, which announces your paired toys, and the scene drives them.

Step 3: Test it

Start a scene with character motion. The toy should respond. You can also click Test toy at the bottom of the ToyControl window to confirm pairing.

Choosing a vamX pose

vamX uses pose data to predict thrust speeds for strokers like the Tremblr or Lovense Solace Pro. For the best feel, switch to a vamX-provided pose in the scene. Custom poses can work but may have less accurate prediction.

Tuning the feel

Use ToyControl's standard controls in the bottom bar:

• Multiplier to scale the whole signal.
• Speed range for a floor and ceiling.
• Per-device intensity for each toy individually.

If vamX is too intense, try Multiplier 0.7x. If too gentle for a Lush, try 1.3x.

What about non-Lovense toys

The vamX panel is labeled "Lovense" but ToyControl is in the middle of the connection. vamX thinks it is talking to a Lovense toy; ToyControl translates the commands for whatever toy you have paired (Tremblr, Hismith, KEON, Lush, all of them).

You get the convenience of vamX's built-in panel with the flexibility of any supported toy.

Multiple toys

ToyControl handles multiple toys in a single session. Pair a stroker and a vibrator, set one to follow the other (or run them independently), and vamX drives both through the same Game Link target. See Running multiple toys at once.

Troubleshooting

vamX cannot connect to ToyControl

• Confirm the helper app is running. Visit http://localhost:8765/healthz in any browser; you should see ok.
• Re-copy the IP and port from the ToyControl Game Link tab.
• Make sure VAM's User Preferences > Security > Allow Plugins Network Access is enabled.

Connected but the toy is not moving

• Click Test toy in ToyControl to verify the toy responds at all.
• Check the per-device intensity slider in the sidebar.
• Make sure the scene is actually playing animations.

Two strokers, very different intensity

Use ToyControl's per-device intensity slider (sidebar, under each toy) to balance them. A Solace Pro can mirror a Tremblr with the slider set to 70% on the Tremblr side, for example.
