Do I need a script, or can I just vibrate along

You do not need a funscript to enjoy ToyControl. Here is what scripts add, and what works just as well without one.

New users often assume that to use ToyControl with a video they must track down a funscript for it. You do not. A script is one option, not a requirement.

Two ways to use a toy with content

Both are valid. Neither is the "wrong" way.

When a script is worth the effort

A script shines when you want the toy to match a particular scene beat for beat. For VR scenes especially, a tuned script is a different experience from a generic rhythm. The cost is that you have to find the matching script and line it up. See Where to find scripts.

When to skip the script

If you just want the toy active while you watch, a pattern is instant and endless. Pick a preset, press play, done. Music sync will even pulse the toy to the soundtrack. No file, no matching, no setup.

A lot of people use ToyControl for months on patterns alone and never load a script. That is a perfectly good way to use it.

Bottom line

Buy the toy first, a Lovense Lush or a stroker, and try it with patterns. Add scripts later if you want scene-matched precision. The toy works fully from day one either way. For the difference between the two, see The difference between a script and a pattern.
