How to clean and store interactive toys
Interactive toys last longer with a simple cleaning and storage routine. Here is the routine.
Interactive toys are not cheap, and they last far longer with a simple cleaning and storage routine. Here is the routine, and the few accessories that help.
Cleaning, after every use
- General toys: warm water with a mild, unscented soap, or a dedicated toy cleaner. A spray toy cleaner is convenient for toys you cannot rinse fully.
- Stroker sleeves: rinse thoroughly with warm water and let them dry completely.
- Watch the electronics. Do not submerge a charging port or a non-waterproof toy. Check each toy's own rating.
Drying matters
Dry every toy fully before it goes away. Damp storage is what causes most material problems over time. For strokers and sleeves, a drying stand keeps air moving through the sleeve and speeds this up.
Storing
- Keep toys separate from each other. Some materials react when left in contact.
- A storage bag or pouch per toy keeps dust off and toys apart.
- Store somewhere cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight.
Bottom line
Rinse, dry fully, store separately. It takes a couple of minutes and it is the difference between a toy that lasts years and one that does not. For the help-centre versions, see How to clean your interactive sex toy and Storing your toy when not in use.
