How to connect your toy to Dominatrix Simulator: Threshold
Dominatrix Simulator supports both Lovense Game Mode and Buttplug.io. Either path works with ToyControl, here is each one.
Dominatrix Simulator: Threshold (by deviant.tech) is one of the few games that supports both Lovense Game Mode and Buttplug.io. You get to pick which one. ToyControl works with either, so you can use whichever fits your setup.
This article covers both paths.
What you need
- A toy paired with ToyControl in your browser.
- The ToyControl helper app running on your computer.
- The Intiface bridge turned on in ToyControl's Game Link tab. Quit Intiface Central first if you have it installed; the two cannot share the port.
- Dominatrix Simulator installed (Steam or itch.io).

Both work. The Buttplug.io path is more universal because it speaks the open protocol; the Lovense path is the same path most other VR games use, which is convenient if you already use Game Link for Wild Life or Captain Hardcore.
Path 1: Lovense Game Mode
- Open ToyControl. Pair your toy.
- Click Game Link in the sidebar. Copy the connection target (IP and port).
- Launch Dominatrix Simulator.
- In the game journal, find the vibrating buttplug bookmark.
- Select Enable Lovense App.
- The game looks for a Lovense Connect endpoint on your network and finds ToyControl.
- Select ToyControl from the app list, then pick your toy from the list of toys ToyControl announces.
- Test by clicking the toy in the game; it should briefly buzz.
Path 2: Buttplug.io
- Open ToyControl. Pair your toy. Make sure the helper app is running.
- ToyControl exposes an Intiface-compatible Buttplug.io endpoint. The address is shown in ToyControl (Game Link tab includes both paths).
- Launch Dominatrix Simulator.
- In the game journal, find the vibrating buttplug bookmark.
- Select Enable buttplug.io.
- Configure the game's Buttplug server URL to point at ToyControl.
- The game connects to ToyControl, announces what is available, and starts listening.
Verifying the connection
Once connected, the in-game journal shows the toy as ready. Trigger a scene that involves toy events; the toy should respond, and ToyControl's Game Link or Intiface activity panel shows incoming commands.
Tuning the feel
Standard ToyControl controls in the bottom bar:
- Multiplier scales the whole session.
- Speed range max caps the top intensity.
- Per-device intensity for individual toys.
Troubleshooting
"Cannot find Lovense" in the game
- Confirm the helper app is running.
- Confirm both ToyControl and Dominatrix Simulator are on the same Wi-Fi.
- Try the Buttplug.io path instead; it does not depend on network scanning.
"Cannot connect to Buttplug server"
- Verify the URL in the game's Buttplug config matches the one ToyControl shows.
- Make sure the helper app is running.
Connected but the toy is not moving
- Click Test toy in ToyControl.
- Check the per-device intensity slider in the sidebar.
- Make sure you have selected the right toy in the game's toy list.
Privacy
Both paths are local. The game connects to ToyControl on your home Wi-Fi. Nothing leaves your house. No game-vendor cloud is involved.
