The Lovense app vs ToyControl, when to use each
They are not rivals. Here is honestly when the Lovense app is the better tool and when ToyControl is.
If you own a Lovense toy, you have two pieces of software that can drive it: the Lovense app and ToyControl. They are not really rivals. They are good at different things.
What the Lovense app is good at
- First-run setup. Some toys need a one-time setup the maker's app handles. See Why some toys need the Lovense app.
- Brand-specific modes: sound-activated patterns, the Lovense pattern library, and other features built into Lovense's own ecosystem.
- A setup focused entirely on Lovense hardware.
What ToyControl is good at
- Funscripts and VR scenes. ToyControl plays a script in time with a video or a VR headset. See What is a funscript.
- Mixing brands. ToyControl drives Lovense, Kiiroo, Hismith, We-Vibe and more from one place.
- Game Link, Broadcast, Music sync, and partner Remote Control rooms.
- Running several toys at once.
When to use which
Use the Lovense app for first-run setup and any Lovense-only mode you specifically want. Use ToyControl for funscripts, VR, games, multi-source play, and any setup that is not Lovense-only. The toy can be paired with either at different times.
Verdict
They are complementary, not competing. Most ToyControl users do the one-time setup in the Lovense app and then live in ToyControl. See Lovense toys with ToyControl.
