Where scripters hang out, share work, and get help

Eroscripts.com, Discord servers, subreddits, and Patreon. The communities where funscript creators congregate, with what each is good for.

If you script, you do not have to do it alone. There is a small but active community of funscript creators, and they hang out in a few specific places. This article maps them out.

eroscripts.com

The biggest and most important community.

What it is: A forum where scripters post their work, users download and rate, and discussions happen around quality and craft.

What it is good for:

Releasing scripts. Both free and pay-what-you-want.
Getting feedback on your work.
Finding other scripters with similar interests.
Discovering new scenes worth scripting.

Account required? Yes, free.

Adult content level: Explicit. Adult-oriented throughout.

If you write scripts and want them seen, eroscripts is the first place to release them. The audience is concentrated there.

Buttplug.io Discord

The technical community.

What it is: A Discord server for buttplug.io users and developers. Includes scripters who use buttplug-compatible workflows.

What it is good for:

Technical questions about toys, protocols, and game integration.
Conversations with other scripters about tools and workflows.
Early-warning of new toys and games being added to the ecosystem.
Meeting developers of mods like LoveMachine, GHR, and others.

Account required? Free Discord account.

The Discord is general-tech rather than specifically scripter-focused, but most active scripters are in it.

Patreon scripter pages

Not a community per se, but a constellation of individual scripter pages.

What it is for scripters: Where you build your subscriber base. Where you publish releases. Where subscribers comment and request scenes.

What it is for fans: Where you support specific scripters and get their work first.

Most active scripters have a Patreon. Browse a few. Follow scripters whose style you like.

Subreddits

A few subreddits relate to scripting:

r/funscripts

The main subreddit for the funscript ecosystem. Sharing scripts, asking for recommendations, discussing toys.

Activity level: Modest. Mostly link-sharing.

r/Lovense and similar brand subreddits

Brand-specific subreddits sometimes have script-related threads.

Activity level: Higher than r/funscripts but more brand-focused.

r/teledildonics

Broader than scripting. General discussion of remote-controlled toys.

Activity level: Modest.

Discord servers for specific games

Many of the games with toy integration have their own Discord servers:

Virt-A-Mate's Discord. Sharing VAM scenes, pose libraries, and plugins.
Captain Hardcore's Discord. Bug reports, sharing, dev discussion.
Wild Life's Discord. Same.
VRChat avatar / world creator Discords. Some of these have toy-related channels.

If you script for a specific game's content, joining that game's Discord puts you in front of the audience that wants your work.

OBS / streamer Discords

For scripters who also stream, the buttplug.io Discord and various adult-streamer Discords overlap. Conversations about OBS setups, tip-to-toy mappings, and live haptic streaming happen here.

Where NOT to release

A few platforms are not friendly to scripts:

GitHub (the main code site). Some scripters host tools there, but not script files themselves. GitHub's TOS does not allow explicit content.
General-purpose paste sites (Pastebin). Not really designed for this.
Twitter / X. You can promote your work; the actual download links should be elsewhere.

How to get started in a community

A few practical things:

Don't lead with your work

When you join eroscripts.com or a Discord, do not immediately post "here's my script, please download it". Spend a week or two reading, replying to other people's posts, and getting a sense of the community's norms.

Comment on others' work

Useful comments on other scripters' releases ("the build at 8:15 is great") are the fastest way to be recognised. The community is small enough that consistent participation gets noticed.

Ask questions

Newer scripters asking thoughtful questions get help. The Buttplug Discord and eroscripts both have channels for this.

Share works-in-progress

Some scripters share rough drafts for feedback before releasing publicly. This is encouraged on eroscripts. Feedback improves your work.

Etiquette

A few generally-accepted rules:

Credit reference scripters. If you adapted someone's script or learned from their style, mention it.
Don't pirate paid work. Scripters who pay-gate their work behind Patreon are doing it for their income. Don't redistribute.
Don't request scenes aggressively. "Can you script this?" is fine; "you should script this" is not.
Be patient with new scripters. Their first work is rarely their best.
Take feedback well. Critical comments on your scripts will happen. Most are useful even if uncomfortable.

What the community is bad at

Honestly:

Diversity of style. Most scripters are men, scripting for male audiences. Other audiences are underserved.
Beginner education. The bar to entry is "just start", which is fine but does not help everyone.
Long-term archive. Old scripts on dead Patreons can be hard to find.

These are improving slowly. The community is open to anyone who wants to participate.

A starter list

If you are brand new and want to spend a Saturday afternoon orienting:

Make an eroscripts.com account.
Read the front page for an hour. Click into 5-10 scripts. Read the comments.
Find one scripter whose style appeals to you. Read their Patreon.
Join the buttplug.io Discord.
Idle there for a few days.
