My toy connected but it is not moving
If your toy paired with ToyControl but is not vibrating or stroking, the fix is almost always one of three settings. Here is the checklist.
Green dot means connected, not active. A paired toy is just waiting; it does not move until something tells it to. If the toy is silent, the fix is almost always in the source or the intensity settings. Check them in this order.
Start with Test toy
At the bottom of the screen, click Test toy. It should ramp the toy up to maximum, hold a second, and ramp back down.
- Test toy works: Pairing is fine. The issue is the source or your intensity settings. Skip to step 2.
- Test toy does nothing: The pairing did not fully complete. Disconnect the toy (click the row in the sidebar), turn the toy off and back on, and pair again from scratch. Follow How to pair your first toy.
1. Is anything actually playing?
ToyControl drives your toy from a source. If no source is running, the toy will stay still even with a perfect pairing.
| Source | What to check |
|---|---|
| Script Player | Did you hit play on the script? Play button should be blue (playing), not grey (paused). |
| Patterns | Did you click Send preset (with a preset selected) or Send on the Steady speed card? The pattern card should show "Playing". |
| Script Player with a video | Is the video itself actually playing? Pause the video and the toy stops too. |
| Game Link | Has the VR game actually started sending commands? Watch the Activity log on the Game Link tab; you should see entries. |
| Connect to VR | Is HereSphere playing a video on the headset? Did ToyControl find the matching script? |
| Remote Control | Has a controller joined the room and started driving the slider? |
2. Is the per-device intensity at zero?
In the sidebar, every connected toy has its own intensity slider under its name. It goes from 0 to 150 percent. If it is at zero, the toy gets no signal.
- Click the device row in the sidebar.
- Look at the intensity slider under it.
- Drag it to around 100 percent and try again.
This is the most common cause for "everything looks right but nothing happens."
3. Is the speed range cutting it off?
In the bar at the bottom of the screen, the Speed range sets a hard floor and ceiling for the toy. If the maximum is set to zero, or close to it, the toy will not move no matter what the source is sending.
- Look at the speed range slider in the bottom bar.
- Make sure the maximum is set to a usable level (try 100 to start).
- If the minimum is also high, the toy will run at that minimum even when the script says zero, which is sometimes desired.
4. Multiplier too low
The Multiplier in the bottom bar scales the whole signal before it reaches the toy. At 0.0x or close to it, the toy gets almost nothing.
- Make sure the multiplier is at 1.0x or higher.
- If you have been experimenting, click it once to reset to 1.0x.
Still not moving?
If Test toy itself does nothing, the pairing did not fully complete. Disconnect the toy (click the row in the sidebar), turn it off and on, and pair again from scratch. Follow How to pair your first toy.
If the toy moves on Test toy but not when a script plays, the script may simply have a long silent section at the start. Click further into the script timeline (the heatmap) to skip to action.
