Charging your toy before pairing

Low battery is the most common reason a toy will not pair. Here is how to check, charge, and confirm before connecting.

Most "my toy will not pair" problems come down to one thing: the battery. A toy with a low charge often shows up in the Bluetooth window weakly, or not at all. Before anything else, plug it in.

This article covers how to know your toy is ready to pair.

Why low battery breaks pairing

Bluetooth needs a steady power supply. A toy near the bottom of its battery throttles its signal to last longer. The toy may look like it is on (the light glows), but its Bluetooth signal is too weak for your computer to see.

Five to ten minutes on the charger is often enough to fix this.

How to know your toy is fully charged

Lovense toys (Lush, Hush, Domi, Edge, Ferri, Diamo, Nora, Max). A solid red light means the toy is still charging. When it is fully charged, the light turns off.

Tremblr FM-T. Check the indicator on the device. A full charge usually takes about two hours from empty.

Hismith machines. A blinking red light means low battery. A steady green light means full charge.

Kiiroo KEON. A solid white LED means fully charged.

If you are not sure, plug the toy in for 30 minutes and try again. A fully topped-up toy is the easiest path to a clean pair.

Turning the toy on

A toy that is charged but off will not show up in the Bluetooth window either. Press the power button until the toy turns on. Most toys flash an indicator (often blue) to show they are in pairing mode.

If you cannot find the power button, check the toy's quick-start guide. Some toys (Lovense Lush) only have one button and you hold it for a few seconds. Others (Hismith) have a separate power switch.

A note on shared toys

If you share a toy with a partner who paired it on their own computer, the toy may still be holding their pairing. Turn the toy off and back on to release the previous connection. Then pair it fresh with your computer.
