Picking the right Lovense Hush size
The Hush 2 comes in four sizes. Small for first-timers, medium for most users, larger sizes for experienced. Here is how to choose.
The Lovense Hush 2 is an interactive anal vibrator that comes in four sizes. Picking the right size is important for comfort and safety. This article is a sober guide to picking.
The four sizes
| Size | Diameter at widest | Insertable length | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hush 2 XS | 1.0 inches (2.5 cm) | 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) | First-time anal users |
| Hush 2 S | 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) | 4.3 inches (10.9 cm) | Beginner to intermediate |
| Hush 2 M | 1.75 inches (4.4 cm) | 4.7 inches (11.9 cm) | Most experienced users |
| Hush 2 L | 2.25 inches (5.7 cm) | 5.5 inches (14.0 cm) | Experienced users only |
Dimensions are approximate. Check Lovense's product page for current specs.
If you have never used an anal toy
Start with the XS. There is no shame in starting small.
The XS is small enough to be comfortable and large enough to be useful. Many users stay with the XS forever. Some upgrade to the S after a few months.
Larger sizes are not better. They are larger. Pick a size you can wear comfortably for hours, because that is the use case the Hush is designed for.
If you have some anal experience
The S is the most popular size. It fits most people who have used anal toys before and is comfortable to wear for extended sessions.
The M is for users with consistent anal practice who find the S too small.
If you are very experienced
The L is large. Wear-time comfort is genuinely harder than smaller sizes. The L is for users who specifically want size.
If you are not sure whether you are "very experienced", the answer is probably "not yet". Stay with M or S.
Insertion technique matters more than size
Comfort comes from preparation, not from picking the right product. Even the XS is uncomfortable without preparation. Things that help:
- Plenty of water-based lubricant. Silicone-on-silicone reactions mean you should use water-based, not silicone-based.
- Warm up gradually. Smaller objects first if you are new.
- Bear down (Valsalva) on insertion. Counterintuitive but it relaxes the muscle.
- Stop if it hurts. Discomfort is a signal.
When to size up
If your current Hush feels too small over time, the body adapts. Sizing up is normal. Three-month gaps between sizes is a reasonable pace.
If your current Hush feels too large, sizing down is also normal. Comfort matters more than aspirational sizing.
How it works in ToyControl
All four Hush sizes use the same Bluetooth protocol. Once paired, they all respond identically to scripts and patterns. The size affects fit and feel, not the toy control.

Safety reminders
- Always use a flared-base toy for anal play. All Hush models have a flared base. Other "butt plug" products without flared bases are unsafe.
- Clean before and after every use. See How to clean your interactive sex toy.
- Don't share without proper hygiene. See Sharing a toy between partners safely.
- Listen to your body. Pain is a signal to stop.
