Which browser works with ToyControl

ToyControl works in Chrome and Edge on a computer, Chrome on Android, and Bluefy on iPhone and iPad. Here is the full compatibility list.

ToyControl uses Web Bluetooth to talk directly to your toy from the browser, no app store install required. Most major browsers support this; a few do not. Here is the full list.

If you are not sure which browser you have, open toycontrol.app. If the pair button does not work, your browser is the most likely cause.

Why Safari and Firefox do not work

Browsers can talk to Bluetooth devices, but only if the browser company chose to add the feature. Chrome and Edge did. Safari and Firefox did not. There is no setting or extension that turns it on. You need to switch browsers, not change a setting.

If you only have a Mac with Safari, install Chrome from google.com/chrome. It is free, runs alongside Safari, and pairs in a couple of minutes.

iPhone and iPad: use Bluefy

iPhone and iPad use Apple's Safari engine for every browser, even Chrome for iPhone. The fix is a small free browser called Bluefy that you install from the App Store. It adds the missing feature on iOS and lets you use ToyControl normally.

See How to use ToyControl on iPhone or iPad for the full walkthrough.

A note on secure websites

ToyControl runs on toycontrol.app, which is a secure (HTTPS) site. That is required for browser Bluetooth to work. You do not need to do anything for this. It is handled.

A note on work or corporate computers

If your laptop is managed by your employer, the IT team can restrict Bluetooth in the browser. If pairing fails on a managed device but works on a personal one, your IT department has probably locked Bluetooth permissions.

Two options:

This is uncommon outside corporate setups.

Frequently asked

Why is my Chrome on iPhone not working? Apple does not let any browser on iOS use Bluetooth except Bluefy. Use Bluefy instead.

Does Arc browser work? Arc is built on Chrome's engine, so Bluetooth toys generally work in it. We test on Chrome and Edge directly, so stick with those if you want the smoothest experience.

What about Samsung Internet on Android? Stick with Chrome on Android. Samsung Internet is not tested.

Can I use the same toy on Chrome and Bluefy at the same time? No. A toy can only talk to one app at a time. Disconnect on one before pairing on the other.
