Free trial and Pro subscription

Ten free hours of Pro, then $3 a month if you like it. Here is what each tier includes and how active time is counted.

ToyControl has a Free tier and a Pro tier. The Free tier lets you build patterns and pair one toy. Pro unlocks scripts, VR, remote control, and multiple toys. You get 10 free hours of Pro when you sign up; after that, Pro is on a monthly subscription. This article covers what each tier gets and how the trial works.

What Free includes

That is it. Free is genuinely useful (you can have a full pattern session), just narrower than Pro.

What Pro includes

Everything in Free, plus:

Pro is what most users actually want once they have tried ToyControl.

What the trial gives you

You get 10 hours of Pro for free when you sign up (anonymous or email account, both qualify). The clock counts only active minutes: time when the engine is actively playing something. Idle time, paused time, time when ToyControl is open but doing nothing, does not count.

This means:

The trial bar in the sidebar shows minutes remaining. When you have less than an hour left, a banner appears.

What happens after trial expires

When the trial counter hits zero:

You can keep using ToyControl for free with patterns. To unlock everything again, subscribe.

What Pro costs

See the current price on the pricing page. Billed monthly. The price is shown in your account's currency, with the actual charge handled by Stripe.

Statement descriptor: TCTRL (so you know what the charge is when you see it).

How to upgrade

  1. Open ToyControl.
  2. Open the Account page (or click your account info in the sidebar bottom).
  3. Click Upgrade to Pro.
  4. Stripe checkout opens. Enter card details.
  5. Subscribe.

Pro unlocks within seconds. See How to upgrade to Pro for the full walkthrough.

How to cancel

  1. Open the Account page.
  2. Click Cancel subscription.
  3. Confirm.

You keep Pro until the end of your current billing period (so a cancel on May 10 with billing on June 1 means Pro stays active through May 31). Before that date, you can click Reactivate to undo.

See How to cancel your Pro subscription.

Managing billing

For card updates, invoice downloads, or contacting Stripe support directly, click Manage billing in Stripe on the Account page. Opens Stripe's hosted billing portal.

Anonymous vs email subscriptions

Both anonymous and email accounts can subscribe. The difference:

We recommend using an email account if you plan to subscribe. See Anonymous account vs email account.
