Picking a fucking machine that works with ToyControl
Why machines are different from strokers and vibrators, and which Hismith machines work with ToyControl today.
A fucking machine is a different kind of toy than a vibrator or a stroker. It is bigger, mains-powered, and built for sustained sessions rather than rapid-action scripts. This article is for users considering a machine as their next step up.
The short version: Hismith is the brand we support. Its app-controlled machines share the same Bluetooth protocol; the difference is form factor.
What makes a machine different
A vibrator buzzes. A stroker moves a sleeve. A machine drives a long-stroke motion that you cannot easily replicate by hand.
Compared to a stroker:
- Bigger. Machines sit on the floor or mount to a surface. They are not portable.
- Mains-powered. You plug them in. No batteries to worry about.
- More stroke length. A machine can do six to ten inches of stroke; most strokers do two to three.
- Less rapid-action. Machines have minimum response times. A script with 200 ms changes will feel mechanical.
Compared to a vibrator:
- Not wearable at all.
- Stronger output, suited to insertive play.
- More setup space required.
If you watch SLR Interactive scenes with fast scripts, a stroker is the better fit. If you want long, sustained sessions or pattern-driven play, a machine wins.
Which machine
ToyControl supports Hismith's app-controlled machines. Two of them cover most buyers, and they share the same Bluetooth protocol; the difference is form factor.
Hismith Premium
- The full-size machine line, sold in versions such as Premium 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0.
- Strong motor, the longest stroke, mounts to a surface or floor-stand.
- Heavy, not portable; it wants a fixed setup.
- The main pick for most ToyControl users.
Hismith Pro Traveler
- The compact, portable machine.
- Easier to position and store; less power and a shorter stroke than the Premium.
- Best if space is tight, or you move the machine between rooms.
Both pair with ToyControl in your browser the same way. One thing matters when buying: choose an app-controlled version, not a wired-remote-only "Standard" version, since only the app versions pair with ToyControl. See How to connect a Hismith machine.
What about other brands
A few other machines exist (Lovense Sex Machine, KinkLab, and others). ToyControl does not support them directly today. The XToys Webhook path can sometimes reach them indirectly; see Using ToyControl with XToys webhooks.
For OSR-2 and SR-6 multi-axis rigs, see the note on the TCode protocol in our connection types reference. Not supported today.
What it costs
Hismith machines run from about $250 (the Pro Traveler) to around $500 (a full-size Premium). Attachments are extra. Plan on $400 to $600 for a starter setup you will actually use.
This is a bigger investment than a stroker. The trade-off: machines last for years and do things a stroker cannot.
How to use a machine with ToyControl
Once paired:
- Patterns is the natural fit. Pick the Tease, Ride, or Edge preset. The machine runs a varied rhythm for as long as you want.
- Scripts work, but pick scripts paced for machines (slower, smoother) rather than rapid-action stroker scripts.
- Remote Control rooms for partner-driven sessions are great with machines because the rhythm holds steady.
See Patterns and How to start a remote play room.
Safety
Mains-powered machines are physically strong. A few rules:
- Mount it stably. A machine that shifts during use can hurt you.
- Pick attachments that fit your body. Hismith ships multiple sizes.
- Use lubricant generously. Long sessions are friction-heavy.
- Always set a speed range max in ToyControl before your first session. 60-70% is a safe starting cap.
