How to drive your toy with music
Music sync pulses your toy on the beat of whatever is playing. Here is how to set it up with your microphone or your computer's audio.
Music sync drives your toy from music. It listens to a track, finds the beat, and pulses the toy in time. This article covers setup. For the full control reference, see Music sync.
Set it up
- Pair your toy.
- Open Music sync from the source picker on the device's card.
- Choose where the sound comes from:
- Microphone: it hears the room. Use this for music on a speaker.
- Computer audio: it hears a browser tab or app on your computer.
- Press Listen.
The first time you use the microphone, your browser asks for permission. Allow it.
Getting a good response
Give it a few seconds to find the tempo. The BPM readout settles once it locks on. If the toy feels out of time, three sliders under the heatmap help:
- Sync offset: nudge the pulses earlier so the toy is not playing late.
- Beat length: make each pulse longer for a slower toy.
- Intensity: turn the overall strength up or down.
Common problems
- The microphone never asked, or you said no: re-allow it from the icon in your browser's address bar, then press Listen again.
- Computer audio is greyed out: your browser cannot share tab audio. Use the microphone.
- The toy barely moves: the music may be too quiet for the microphone to hear, or the Intensity slider is low.
Music sync cannot run at the same time as Broadcast on the same toy. Stop one first.
